Trends in Fashion and Gifts for Health and Well-Being

Fashion is an art form that plays with notions of space, form and color. It also plays with the way an individual uses their body and how they display themselves in society.

Fashion has the potential to make positive changes to our health, our social status and even our environment. This is due to the way clothing and accessories play a key role in our lives.

The fashion industry is an enormously important global industry. It is an industry that consists of different sectors such as design, manufacturing, retailing and marketing. They are all interrelated and must work in unison to fulfill the demands of consumers.

Frances Corner, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Arts London and author of Why Fashion Matters, is a champion of using fashion for social good. She has 20 years of experience in higher education and is now involved in promoting the use of fashion for health and well-being.

Frances Corner, who has an MA in fashion design from Central Saint Martins, believes that the fashion world is more than just a bunch of clothes. By taking advantage of technology and working with textiles and engineering, she and other fashion professionals can contribute to the betterment of our society.

In her book Why Fashion Matters, Frances Corner lists the many ways in which fashion impacts our lives. From fashion’s ability to spread ideas to its impact on our health and our planet, she gives credit to fashion for its impact on the fashion industry, the consumer and the community.

One of the most popular fashion items in 2014 was the striped design. The lettuce leaf hem and sheer panels were also popular. Other notable trends included ballet flats, pearl jewelry, and hair accessories.

Katja Silverman, a fashion designer and writer, has argued that gender is the new fashion. She argues that the clothing worn by men is more stable than the styles donned by women, and has become the primary way in which people express their gender. However, it is worth noting that women’s fashions are more fluid.

Similarly, the ‘catalytic’ dress was a major fad in 2014. Professor Helen Storey MBE and Tony Ryan explored textiles as catalytic surfaces. Their ‘Herself’ dress, which toured the world to promote the project, was an innovation of a sort.

Likewise, the use of fashion in conjunction with technology to create high-tech synthetic fabrics with a wide variety of effects is a smart way of retaining heat, protecting against hazards and offering stain-resistance.

The latest trend is in the realm of color. Tinted sunnies are edgy and are a must-have accessory this year. Aside from the obvious, the use of color in fashion is a creative way to enhance a look.

There is no limit to the ways in which a particular garment can be used. While some of the latest trends are very sexy, it is also possible to wear the most outrageous piece of apparel.
